About

Marnie Rabinovitch Consky

Hi there, I’m Marnie👋🏻

Entrepreneur, CEO & Category Builder.

I’m the founder of Thigh Society, pioneer of a new underwear category. Thigh Society was the first brand to make a size inclusive line of anti-chafing slip shorts that had *nothing* to do with shapewear or compression and everything to do with body confidence and comfort for women.

My Background 📖

Diet craze culture, calorie-counting, point systems and doctors yielding charts and scales to denounce my weight were the backdrop of my childhood.

As a teenager in the 90s, I struggled to separate my identity from its connection to my body. In time, I realized that universal standards of beauty were socially constructed and entirely arbitrary.

After earning a Business degree from McGill University, I carved out a leadership path in the corporate world, growing among the ranks of major institutions: a Fortune Global 500 consulting firm, the provincial government, and the leading MBA school in Canada.

My Entrepreneurial Journey🎢

I’ve never fit the label of what a typical entrepreneur "looks like.”

I felt satisfied with my low-risk, pension-building career, and really didn’t mind working for someone else. But I had an idea for a women’s product—one that didn’t exist and addresses a problem that was taboo to talk about in 2008. So in the midst of a financial recession, I quit my secure job and embarked on an unplanned journey of entrepreneurship, creating Thigh Society.

Bootstrapping the company without venture capital, I went back to work in 2009 and ran the business for years as a side-hustle, slowly growing it to success, focusing heavily on product-market fit and listening to our community of customers. Before long, we reached $1M in bootstrapped annual revenue and received attention from media outlets ranging from Forbes to Chatelaine to the Globe & Mail.

Today📍

Thigh Society is an $18M+ brand with raving fans across the globe, 1 employee and 5 products. I (still) don’t fit the label of a traditional entrepreneur:

- Not leading a traditional team (fully remote, all-freelance team)

- Not raising external capital

- Not subscribing to hustle culture

I started Thigh Society to normalize thigh chafe, democratize comfy long leg underwear for all, and speak out against diet culture and a single narrative of entrepreneurial life.
