Kyla is a powerhouse of ambition and endless drive. She knew from day one that this company would grow into an empire and has dedicated her life to showing the world a Foxier way, one box at a time. When Kyla’s not plotting world domination, she loves hiking with her Mastiffs, singing to her flock of chickens, playing in her garden and cheffing up a storm for her household of boys.

The history of Foxy Box begins with Kyla Dufresne: an ambitious, badass, animal-loving, zucchini-growing boy mom! Her authentic, kind, yet no-BS approach has led her to build an unstoppable brand that embraces the uniqueness of womanhood.

In 2012, Kyla founded Foxy Box Wax Bar, fueled by her vision to revolutionize the waxing industry. At the time, there were no dedicated waxing businesses—just high-end spas or uninspired nail salons. Kyla started this journey with determination and the tips she earned while bartending. Bartending was the perfect platform to launch her business. Every customer would wake up with a Foxy Box card in their pocket, planting the seed for her budding venture.

Using her bartending tips, Kyla put herself through school, where she was shown one Brazilian wax and sent on her way. With that knowledge, she began taking customers in the dining room of her shared house. She knew from the beginning that she had to create a super relaxed, fun, and accessible environment—an experience that reflected who she was. In those early days, Kyla was Foxy Box, and her dedication to creating a unique and empowering experience for her clients set the foundation for everything that would come.

After outgrowing her shared living space, Kyla decided it was time to find her own place. She landed a 10x10 room at the back of a jewelry shop in downtown Victoria, BC, and that little room became the launching pad for something big. With a sandwich board out front, clients started pouring in. It wasn’t long before she needed her own space, complete with a waiting room, extended hours, and funky music blasting all day. Customers kept returning monthly, and Foxy Box took off like a rocket.

What began as a small wax bar in the back of a jewelry shop has grown into a thriving business in several locations across Canada. Recognizing the importance of a strong brand, Kyla invested heavily in the brand's foundation from the very beginning. This investment was crucial, allowing Foxy Box to scale and grow without losing the essence of what makes it unique.
